Good Faith Sacco was initially started as a self-help group by 8 Christian members from Full Gospel Churches of Kenya Githirioni on 10th October 1996. The inspiration behind its formation was the need to develop a Christian institution where Christians could pool their resources together to save and alleviate poverty. Eventually, members of many other Pentecostal churches applied for membership and the Sacco grew rapidly. The Sacco now has a total asset base of more than 60 million and the total membership stands at around 2500 members.
