In Kenya, a government-owned healthcare financing company called the National Hospital Insurance Fund (NHIF) gives its members access to reasonably priced medical care.
If you are a member of NHIF and would like to check the status of your account, please follow these instructions:
- Go to www.nhif.or.ke to access the NHIF website.
- At the top of the page, select the “Members” tab.
- Select “Account Inquiry” from the menu.
- Click “Inquire” after entering your ID number or NHIF number in the space provided.
As an alternative, you can check the status of your NHIF account by going to an NHIF office or calling NHIF customer service at 0709 932 000. You can also send an SMS to 21020 with your ID or NHIF number to check the status of your account.
A message containing your account balance and other pertinent data will be sent to you. It’s important to keep in mind that in order to check the status of your NHIF account, you might need to present identification.
