Magereza Sacco was started and registered in 1971 by a section of Prison officers from Shimo la Tewa prisons. It is licensed by the Sacco Societies Regulatory Authority (SASRA) as a deposit taking Sacco. Membership is drawn from correctional institutions including prisons, other government departments and immediate families of the staff of these institutions.

This service allows its users to access Sacco services despite their geographical location as well as beyond normal working hours. The services that can be accessed include; purchase of airtime, balance enquiry, cash withdrawal among others.
How To Apply For The M-Banking Services
- Download the mobile banking registration form on the Sacco website
- Fill the form and send it to the Sacco office
- Once received and verified to have all the details, the Sacco will link the account to the applicant’s mobile number
- A PIN number to log into the account will be sent to the applicant
- He/she will be required to change the PIN before any transaction
