Metropolitan Sacco was registered on 10^th February 1977 as Kiambu Teachers’ Sacco and continued to operate under the name until 2^nd July 2009 when the change of name certification was granted. Since it began operations in 1977, membership has tremendously grown to over 75,000 members.
