The idea of establishing a Sacco was brought to life by demands from Nderi Farmers’ Cooperative Society for affordable and convenient savings and credit institutions. Subsequently, Ndetika Rural Sacco was started. It was registered on 29th April 1993 with the ministry of Cooperatives. The current area of operation is Kikuyu but there are plans to intensify nationally. Membership is defined by a common bond, being a resident, owning property, or working in its area of operations. It was rebranded to NRS Sacco in 2011.

This is a mobile banking platform that allows members to transact conveniently through their mobile phones. It can be accessed by dialing *882# or downloading the app from Google Play Store. The services that can be accessed via the platform include;
- Deposit and withdrawal of funds
- Purchase of airtime
- Funds transfer
- QR transactions
Requirements To Apply For An E-Loan
- One must be a member of NRS Sacco
- One must be an active member of the Sacco
- The member needs to have registered for E-loan
- For any member with an active loan ie it should not be in arrears
