The University of Embu was established through a Legal Notice No. 65 of 17th June, 2011as a Constituent College of the University of Nairobi and became a fully fledged university receiving a charter from the president on Friday, 7th October, 2016.

Entry Requirements For A Bachelor’s Degree

For one to be admitted to a Bachelors’ course at the University of Embu, they must meet the following minimum qualifications as set out by the commission on higher education;

1. Mean grade C+ at KCSE and a Minimum of C(Plain) in English; OR,
2. Mean Grade C(Plain) at KCSE plus a Diploma in Library & Information Science or its equivalent with a credit from an institution recognized by the senate; OR,
3. KACE or equivalent with at least two principal passes in any two subjects plus a credit pass in English at KCE
